  • Board Meetings
Board Meetings held first Wednesday of every month, 10 a.m. at the Art Center Gallery, 152 N. Main Street, Porterville. Members are welcome.
  • At our April 23rd meeting, the nominating committee’s nominees for PAA’s new officers and board members will be presented and any additional nominees will be accepted from the floor. If there are two nominees for an office, a voice-vote by the members present will be taken. If only one nominee per office, they will be confirmed as new officers.

They will then be installed Friday, May 28, at our annual Potluck Dinner at the Santa Fe Depot, at 6:30 pm, and will take office June 1st for a two-year term. Here is the current list of nominees:

    President: Joy Harvey
    Vice President: Carol Byker
    Treasurer: Candy Medina
    Secretary: Peggy Shaffer
  • From the President
    Hello Fellow Artists!

Our potluck was very well attended by members and
friends of PAA. Many thanks to all who decorated,
brought food, fun, and laughter to the party. I especially
want to thank Carol Byker for all the hard
work and effort she brought to our club to make it
the success it has been the past few years. It is gratifying
to see her stay on the board, and be willing to
work again on the club’s behalf.

We hope that anyone who wants to know what goes
on at the board meetings will come down and attend.
You are welcome. And, we always are looking for
people to help out at club events, whether just once a
year, or on a regular basis…..please let any board
member know if you are available to help, or want to
learn how to do some of the things we do.

The “art quotation of the day”:
    “Creativity takes courage.” (Henri Matisse)

I look forward to our meetings and demonstrations,
    and seeing you all there.
    Joy

UPCOMING SHOWS AT THE ART CENTER
    Our next change-of-show is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, June 25 & 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • At that time, the Member Show will come down and we will receive artwork for our non-judged summer exhibit. This exhibit is open to all PAA members in good standing to show pieces without limitations as to how old the pieces are. Artwork produced in classes or in workshops you have attended, either locally, or as taught by nationally known artists, is acceptable for these seasonal ex-hibits. We ask only that you acknowledge the origin of the work so that interested buyers are aware of it. Our other standard rules for hanging works will apply.

  • The summer exhibit will end on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 1 & 2, at which time we will receive work for our non-judged fall exhibit. The fall exhibit will run through December and into early January. Beyond that, we have not finalized any further change-of-show dates, but we will let you know as soon as we have things scheduled.
